So the other day I laid my smooth moves on a waitress at Famous Dave’s (who will remain nameless), and she never called me. So lets back track a little here. Yes, I should have gotten HER phone number, and maybe she was put off by the fact I live 100 miles away. Lastly it was all for her amusement I’m sure and that the waitress’s have a "wall of shame" or something that adds up in the back.
It sucks to put yourself out there and get shot down.
So I on the way back to my little house on the prairie, I listened to 104.7 and 99.7. The biggest music offenders of repeated songs, and on this weekend it was a "make-you-feel-like-crap-and-single hip hop spectacular".
So after listening I came up with my major offenders of new music for single people. Turn the station or put your Ipod on shuffle if you hear any of these songs.
What it is: Its a song of a mans infidelity, lies, and failure to win her back. Nice. Men and women aren’t perfect and lets face it, we sometimes make mistakes….women just never forget it.
Why it sucks if you’re single:
If you’re a man whore and got caught this song was made for you. Thanks Buddy! As if the song isn’t boring and lame enough with Rihanna’s angry tone it’s a major buzz kill to be reminded when radio stations play this damn song a hundred times throughout the course of the day. Its pretty much 3 minutes of her saying, take a bow douchebag.
What it is: A song of how love can make you crazy and do insane things. Love. The crack that you can’t put down. So if you bleed love, what does it sell for on the black market?
Why it sucks if you’re single: Some relationships aren’t made to last, but you put you’re heart out there and continue to be let down. Highly depressing and true.
Your Love is a Lie - Simple Plan
What it is: A song about a guy that knows his lady doesn’t really love him. I once was told this statement: Men can fake love, but women can fake a whole relationship. I got to believe there’s some truth to this nugget of knowledge.
Why it sucks if you’re single: You know you have to end relationships like this…. unless the sex is good. Then by all means continue on with the relationship until you get an STD.
BUT THERE IS ALWAYS HOPE. Whenever you’re single and need a pick me up just remember this song, and sing along my fellow singles.
King of Wishful Thinking - Go West
What it is: Totally Badass. THATS WHAT! For anyone who is single, basically has had someone that kicked your hearts ass. Stand up and Move on. And stop listening to top 40 stations because 90% is crap.

I for one totally agree. It seems like top 40 radio is one continuous depressing tunes Merry-go-Round, only to be Trumped by Country! It seems as if artists are only motivated and passionate enough to write songs about the f-d up things in their lives instead of the happy! Here’s to wishful thinking!
Dude when you get married you have to stop listening to music altogether and just listen to MPR. It keeps you from thinking about relationships.
